Check that the listing is live, its calendar is available, and its booking settings match the stays you want to offer. Then compare the full guest price, first photo, amenities, and description with genuinely similar homes. An empty calendar is a reason to investigate, not proof that you must lower the price or that bookings are guaranteed.
Confirm guests can actually find an available stay
Check the listing status, open dates, minimum stay, advance notice, and any restrictions you have set. Search with realistic dates and filters to see whether your availability matches the stay you expect. A visible listing with a blocked or very restrictive calendar may not meet that search.1
Use the information in your host account to separate limited visibility from low interest after a listing is viewed. Make notes before changing several settings at once, so you can understand what you tried.
Review the listing as a guest would
Look at the first image at phone size. Does it show the property clearly, or an unhelpful close-up? Include accurate photos of the spaces a guest can use, and describe sleeping arrangements, parking, access, and amenities honestly. Avoid promising features that are not available.2
Compare the total cost for the same dates, number of guests, and length of stay, not only the advertised nightly rate. Fees can change how your listing compares with nearby alternatives. Match property type, location, and amenities when making that comparison.3
Make focused changes and review the result
Choose one or two useful changes, such as a clearer lead photo, corrected amenities, or dates you can genuinely open. Keep a simple record of the changes and what happens afterward. Demand, season, reviews, and competition can all affect the outcome.
An independent review from someone experienced with local furnished rentals may reveal a presentation or operations issue you missed. Request specific recommendations instead of a promise to fill the calendar, and do not use misleading photographs or fabricated reviews.
