Before accepting an offer, transferring ownership, or spending heavily on repairs, confirm who currently holds title and who has legal authority to act for the property or estate.
An inherited home can be handled from a distance
Secure the property, confirm insurance coverage, arrange mail and utilities, document condition and belongings, and identify a reliable local contact. Remote signatures and vendor coordination are possible, but someone may still need to provide access for inspections, repairs, appraisal, and personal-property removal.
